How It All Started

It was fall of 1979 when June, Jane, Sam, and Hal were driving through the mountains and came upon this beautiful spot. The trees were an array of red, orange, yellow, and green as snow flakes began to fall around them. They immediately fell in love with this magical spot, deciding it was the perfect place to build the cabin.

The Build

In 1980, the pine used for the cabin arrived from Montana, and the build began! Sam and his good friend George Dooley put in hours of back breaking work, and with the help of Clark, Mark, and some of their friends from Dallas, the cabin was up and running by the summer of 1981.

The Good Ol' Days

When the cabin was first built, the toilets got their water from the hot springs. Anytime you'd flush, you would have jump away so as not to burn your buns. A contest began as to who could master the  flush'n'jump.

"The simplest things in this life can evoke powerful memories. Memories are one of the greatest gifts that God has ever given us. They allow us to live one moment one thousand times over". Many memories have been made at the cabin. As the years go by, Sam and Jane's kids, and now grandkids cherish the time they spend here, giving this magical spot its name, The Magic Cabin.

We'll get back to you shortly!
